Preliminary Sketches
A 6 week long research project focusing on information design related to current events in today's culture and society.
Over one hundred million sharks swim in the world's oceans but every time we hear of a beach goer's shark attack we seem to be shocked and horrified. Yet, the beach continues to be a top vacation destination. They are out there and every time we swim in the sea, we are taking a risk. However, there are statistics that can help you swim smarter when sharing the waters with sharks. The graph above indicates the prevalence of where shark attacks occur, what time of year they occur, and the top four aggressive sharks. Use caution and don't become another statistic.
Keep it in perspective. Before you go canceling your next beach vacation, consider other fateful ways that you are more likely to die than by shark attack.
